Robert Thomas Wade, Sr., 76, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 .
Mr. Wade loved the Lord and served a huge part of his life in faith while loving on others! The first 35 years of his profession he worked at International Paper as the Power Plant Superintendent, and recently working for Packing Corp. of America as Director of Power Technology, the last 18 years.
Mr. Wade, or “Dodo” as he was known by those he loved, was the cornerstones of his family, never allowing them to want, When he wasn't off making "Wal Mart money", like he liked to say, he was tinkering around the house, never idle. You can guarantee if you saw him you saw the love of his life next to him too, there was nothing he wouldn't do for her or his family. He loved everyone - when you walked in his house as a stranger you walked out as if you were family. One of his favorite past times was watching his kids, grand kids and great-grand kids in sports, but more than anything he loved giving his frozen treats, so making sure his deep freeze was full of chocolate or ice cream for all of his babies was his favorite priority.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracie Michelle Wells; his parents, Clifton and Kathleen Wade; and his brother, Smitty Wade.
Mr. Wade is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara Jones Wade of Ocean Springs; his son RT (Lynn) Wade, his grandsons, Wade (Merrin) Wells, Dawson (LC) Wells and Tres Wade; his granddaughters, Candace (Brittany) Wells, Ashton Wade, Amberlee (Drew) Holmes, Addison Wade and Chasidy (David) Hembree; and his great-grandkids, Hadlee, Hope, Waylon and Heidi Holmes, Kinsley Wells, Jaidyn and Peyton; his brother, Mike Wade; and sister-in-law, Mary Wade and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Bobby, will continue to love and give through a nonprofit, “Doe Doe’s Deep Freeze” frozen treats for his little sweets (Free ice cream to all kids at opening ceremonies and field days of his great-grand kids’ events give at Citizens Bank of Philadelphia 2702 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs MS 39564 or to pancan.org - Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
