Ronald Eleuterius

Ronald Desmond Eleuterius, known to most as “ELU”, went home to his heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 63. Ronnie was born July 16, 1957 in Biloxi to Ronnie and Ramona Thompson Eleuterius. He was a lifelong resident of “The Point” where he attended Holy Angels Nursery and was crowned King of the Holy Angels Spring Festival. He attended St. Michael Elementary and Biloxi Public Schools. Ronnie was employed by Biloxi Shrimp and Biloxi Port Commission and retired in 2019 from the City of Biloxi. Ronnie had a love for baseball and spent many years as a baseball coach with the American Little League where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Some of his proudest moments were spent in Omaha at the College World Series cheering on two of his favorite players, Doug Thompson and BA Volmuth. He loved the Atlanta Braves and attended several games at Fulton County Stadium, Fenway Park and Shea Stadium all in one week! He was fortunate to also be able to attend games at Riverfront Stadium, Wrigley Field, Comiskey Park and Bush Stadium, to name a few. Ronnie was also an avid LSU Tigers fan. You could say he bled “purple and gold”. He enjoyed his times at Tiger Stadium. “ELU” had a great passion and love of all kinds of music but especially Rock and Roll. He had a vast knowledge of thousands of songs and the artists who wrote and sang them. He traveled extensively across the United States with friends and sometimes solo to over 650 concerts and kept all of the ticket stubs in a collection. His first concert was to see Elvis in Mobile, AL. He also had a musical collection of over 1,000 cds. Fishing and hunting with friends was another favorite pastime of Ronnie’s. He truly loved being on the water and deep-sea fishing and also Snapper and Cobia fishing. His hunting pride was the 150-pound 5-point buck he shot. Ronnie had many favorite pastimes, but mostly he enjoyed being with family, friends and all of his fur babies. Ronnie had a huge heart and was loved and will be missed by many. And there are two things we know for sure, LSU lost their biggest fan! And….if there’s a “Rock and Roll Heaven” we know “ELU” is there with his ticket in hand! Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Eleuterius; and his mother, Ramona Thompson Eleuterius Scruggs. He is survived by many Eleuterius and Thompson cousins; many friends; and his Goddaughter, Savannah Flowers Anglin. Ronnie’s family and friends would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gatlin and the staff of North Bay Medical Clinic, the staffs of Ocean Springs Hospital, Merit Health and Saad’s Healthcare for the love and care shown to Ronnie. Special thanks to Judy and Randy Lesso for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Michael St. Vincent de Paul Society at 177 1st Street, Biloxi, MS 39530. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Eleuterius family.
