Ronald "Ron" Lee Colegrove

Ronald “Ron” Lee Colegrove, age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Friday, July 27th, 2018 in Ocean Springs. Ron was born May 19, 1942 in Milford, MI to Albert Lee and Louise Fern Colegrove. He attended Milford High School in Milford, MI. Ron was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1970 and he served as a Deacon at the Ocean Springs Church of Christ where he was a member for 42 years. He was actively involved in the Food Pantry at church which was part of “Feeding the Gulf Coast”. He retired from Ingalls in April, 2010 as an Engineering Manager. His enjoyment came from being involved at his church and serving any way he could, and he stayed actively involved right up to his last days. Ron loved his family, his church family and all children. His family and friends would call him the “Baby Whisperer”. He loved working with his hands, building anything and he loved gardening. Ron was an avid reader and would read a western over and over. He loved all sports, but especially soccer and football. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Penny Costello and Betty Beaubien. Ron’s survivors include his loving wife, Rose Elaine Colegrove; his children, Stacy Marie McCain, Russell Lee Colegrove, Scott Allen Colegrove, Roxane Denise Dykes and Cameron Douglas Colegrove; his grandchildren, Lauren Colegrove, Brittanie DePew, Allison Colegrove, Kaitlyn Pion, Lynae Turnage, Victoria Colegrove, Wren Colegrove, Liam Carty-Finney, Amber McCraw, Steven McCain and Justin McCain and his great grandchildren, Tristin Colegrove, Vaden Young, Brandon Jacquot, Karen McCraw and Steven McCraw; and his siblings, John Colegrove, Bill Colegrove, Barbara Schmidt, Bob Colegrove and Nancy London. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to our Ocean Springs Church family, our friends and family for their outpouring of prayers, love, encouragement and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Ron’s memory to any Alzheimer’s Association or the Heart Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Ocean Springs Church of Christ, 1116 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564 on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 am. A reception will immediately follow the service. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
