Roselene Battise Haley

Roselene Battise Haley, 70, of Biloxi passed from this life on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at home after a short battle with liver cancer. Rose was born August 22, 1949 in Biloxi, MS to the late Rufus and Sophie Battise. She was educated at Sacred Heart Girls Academy. Rose was employed at Kennedy Engine Co. for 25 years as a parts expeditor. Rose was a child of God and had a great love for people. A very kind and compassionate heart beat inside her. Rose dearly loved her fur babies. She was known throughout the years to help with the rescues of animals in dire straits. Whether it be a dog, bob cat kittens or a baby raccoon (yes, this happened) … she was going to love them and nurture them. Rose was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, sister and friend. She always thought of others first, and brought much happiness to the lives of others. Rose fell in love and married Anthony Haley on November 2, 1984. They were happily married for 35 years. Tony always had her laughing. She was predeceased by her parents, Rufus and Sophie Battise, her brothers, Rufus Battise, George Battise, and William Battise and her sisters, Therese Magnuson and Doreen Fobes. Rose leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Anthony Haley, sister, LuWanda (Ben) Cockrell, brothers, Paul (Pamela) Battise, Milton (Velma) Battise, sister-in-law, Norma Battise, sister-in-law, Fran (John) Lanzone, sister-in-law, Ruby (Frank) Williams, brother-in-law, Robert (Lavota) Haley, Missy, Jewels, and 14 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Homes, 911 Porter Ave, Ocean Springs on Monday, 1/20/20. Family gathering will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Officiating at the services will be Roger Miller. Burial will be on Tuesday, 1/21/20 at 12:30 at the Biloxi National Cemetery. On Tuesday, Vern Williams will dedicate the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, in loving memory of Rose, the family would rather donations be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Harrison County. “To know Rose was to love her” LuWanda Battise Cockrell
