Roy Alexander "Goody" Goodwin

On January 21, 2021, Roy Alexander Goodwin, locally known as Goody, passed away at 76 years old at the VA Hospital in Biloxi, MS. He was 30 years retired from the United States Air Force. During his 28 years of service, he was stationed in North Carolina, Alaska, and Mississippi. Goody retired at Keesler Air Force Base at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and chose to make D'Iberville, MS his home. For the remainder of his life, he operated his small-town mechanic shop with his good friend and military buddy, Alfonso Miller, known as Big Al, who passed away within a few days of Mr. Goodwin. Goody was the son of the late Elmer Lamar Goodwin and the late Emma Gathings Goodwin. Left to honor his memory are his wife of 20 years, Janice Goodwin, his two children Kevin and Donna, his stepchildren Earl, Sheri, Lori, and Diane, and his grandchildren Meagan, Lindsey, Daryl, William, Dylan, and Brayden. Those that knew Goody loved him for his kindness and his unconditional love. While he was a coy man, he took the extra mile to care for his family and friends. Goody left an everlasting impression on anyone that had the opportunity to spend time in his presence. In the words of his grandchildren, Goody "made an impact on the entire city of D'Iberville and will be greatly missed.” We are all very saddened that the world has lost such a beautiful soul.
