Ruby Jean Steelman Maples

Ruby Jean Steelman Maples, age 77, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Ruby was a native and longtime resident of Jackson County. She was a member of Latimer Assembly of God Church and a former employee of Walmart. She loved to travel to the Smokey Mountains and spend time with her loved ones and family. She is preceded in death by parents Emmett D. Steelman and Ruby Garlotte, husband Thelbert “Jackie” Maples, and son Ernest Jones. She is survived by daughters Darlene Maples and Della Bedwell, son Tim (Wendy) Maples, sister Vera (Devon) Milligan, and brother Ernest Ray “Bo” (Martha) Steelman. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, with a service to immediately follow. Interment will be at Maples Family Cemetery on Jim Ramsey Road. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Maples family.
