Mr. Septime “Pete” J. Hebert, Jr., age 79 of D’Iberville, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Mr. Hebert was born on September 29, 1938 in Biloxi, MS. He was employed with Ingalls Shipbuilding for 25 years He earned a degree in Automotive Parts and Sales and Management from MGCCC, Perkinston Campus and worked at Arguelles Automotive. He then served as grounds and care maintenance for St. Louis Catholic Church and St. John Catholic Church in Biloxi through retirement. Mr. Hebert was awarded Family of the Month and Knight of the Quarter for 2002 and 2008-09 from KC Council #1244 of Biloxi and the Lumen Christi Award in 2004. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Fleur de Lis Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1244 of Biloxi. He loved cookouts and family gatherings. He enjoyed bowling in league bowling and for the Knights of Columbus. He loved volunteering for Cruising the Coast and also enjoyed cutting grass for himself and many neighbors. Mr. Hebert is preceded in death by his parents, Septime J. Hebert, Sr. and Rita Mae Landry Hebert; son, Joseph Vincent Hebert; grandchild, Acadia Winters; and siblings, Evelyn Guillotte, Leona Richie, Rita Mae Ross, Theresa Robinson, Julius Derouen and Relius Derouen. Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly J. Hebert; children, Deonne (Joey) Olier, Sharon Hebert and Connie (Kevin) Elliott; grandchildren, Christy Cook, A.J. Olier, Jonathan Harris, Jason Harris, Jared Harris, Vincent Falgo, Elizabeth Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Brittany Businelle and Catherine Overstreet; great-grandchildren, Christopher Battaya, Jeffrey Battaya, Shelby Cook, Bella Olier, Garrett Olier, Aliyah Harris, Jacob Harris, Myles Harris, Myla Harris, MaKenzie Falgo, Brooklin Arguelles, Karleigh Elliott, Moby Businelle, Fynn Businelle, Braxton Overstreet, Ava Grace Overstreet, Maddox Overstreet, Hunter Winters and Kimberly Gordon; great-great-grandchildren, Airiana Battaya, Christopher Joseph “CJ” Battaya, Jr. and Gatlin Leger; and sister, Selmia Tootle. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 5-8pm with rosary at 7pm. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11am where friends may visit 1hr prior all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
