Sharon Hanks Caulking, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
She was a New Orleans native born to Philose and Mary Jane (Jeanie) LeCompte Hanks on October 09, 1945 and was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 14 years. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Francis Charles Caulking and her brother Wade Hanks.
She is survived by her son, Edward Caulking of Gulfport, MS; her son Steve (Maria) Caulking of Belle Chasse, LA; her daughter, Diane Caulking (Aristide) Garcia of Gulfport, MS; her grandchildren Ashley, Regina, Austin, and Mallory Caulking; her grandchildren Kerrigan, Zachary, and Emily Garcia; her great grandchild, Blake Riley Caulking; her brother Ronnie Hanks and many other family and friends.
She was a 1963 graduate of Behrman High School in Algiers, LA. She married her one true love, and made a home for her family by being the best version of herself; which was pretty amazing. She was an excellent homemaker, loved cooking and crocheting; especially for family and friends. She won numerous awards while selling Avon and Mary Kay Cosmetics; and was rarely caught without wearing her lipstick.
She is remembered as a devout Catholic who loved saying the rosary at least once a day. Whenever you would visit, you could bet she was watching EWTN. Her most treasured vacation was when she got the opportunity to visit Medjugorje back in October of 1987. Her one continuous prayer was that the Lord be with her family and friends in her absence and let them feel His love.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road in Gulfport, MS with Father George Murphy presiding. Friends may visit one hour prior.
