Shirley Louise Richard Groue

Shirley Louise Richard Groue, age 73, passed away on July 4, 2018. She was born in Biloxi, MS and was a lifelong resident of St. Martin. She was the daughter of Abdon Richard and Lucille Cannette. Shirley was of the Christian faith and attended Northside Assembly of God Church on Lemoyne Blvd. She loved having family events and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband/dance partner of 51 years, John Alvin “Baby Al” Groue; parents, Abdon Pierre Richard and Lucille Lorenza Cannette Richard; brothers, Alton, Veryl, Jerry, Abdon, Jr., and James Larry Richard; and sisters, Vivian Toncrey and Gloria Husley. Survivors include her sons, Johnny (Linda) Groue and Gerald (Kemberly) Groue; daughter, Melanie (Danny) Sonnier; grandchildren, John III (Ashley), Corey, Sarah (Marty), Chelsea, Daniel, Gerald, Jr., Chance, and Dakoda; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Gabe, Noah, Paisley, Noah B., and Claire; brother, Arlin (Lorna) Richard, Sr.; and sister, Gladys Schmiere. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Northside Assembly of God Church, 14901 Lemoyne Blvd. Biloxi, MS 39532. Friends may visit from 6:30 p.m. until service time. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe is in charge of arrangements.
