Sonya Sonier

Sonya I. Sonier, age 56, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Gulfport, MS. Ms. Sonier was born in Gulfport, MS on September 2, 1961 to Julian and Earnestine Sonier. Ms. Sonier was a lifelong resident of Gulfport, MS. She was a Steven King fan and enjoyed many other books and movies. She loved animals and treated them as family. When it came to music, it was only rock-n-roll for her. She worked at various jobs on the Coast from working with the MS Forestry Commission to working as a receptionist. Ms. Sonier was a mother and grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her. Ms. Sonier is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Earnestine Sonier; brother, Julian A. “Toine” Sonier; sister, Janice Riebling Walsh; and her beloved fur baby, Zeus. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Trent Sonier and wife, Ava Dichelle Sonier of Saucier, MS and Thomas Jason Sonier of Gulfport, MS; two grandchildren, Ava Chase Sonier and Hunter Logan Sonier of Saucier, MS; three sisters, Ann Riebling of Dallas, TX, Linda Faye Viars of Gulfport, MS, and Kay Riebling McDonough of Arvada, CO. No services will be held, it was part of her long-standing order of final wishes. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road in Gulfport, assisted the family with arrangements.
