MSgt. Stanley Zamana (USAF Ret.), 73, of Biloxi passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018.
Stan was born on January 18, 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio. He graduated from Steubenville High School in 1962 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he would serve in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a 20-year career as an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent before retiring in 1982. Following his military service, Stan spent many years working in casino security management at the Tropicana Las Vegas. He would later move his family to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1992 to help build the security departments of the first casinos on the Coast. Upon finishing his casino security career, he worked in the paint departments of Lowe’s Gulfport and D’Iberville until he retired.
Stan loved his family and friends, his dog, Dallas Cowboys football, Elvis, John Wayne, classic cars and, above all, being a doting Paw Paw to his two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Terry.
Survivors include his two daughters, Michelle Rumrill (Jeff) of Hermitage, TN, and Stacy Ramsey (Kevin) of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandsons, Nathan and Daniel Gibson of Hermitage, TN; his brother, Ed Zamana (Margie) of Winter Haven, FL; two nephews, Ed Zamana (Jackie) of Lake Forest, CA, and John Zamana (Kim) of Lake Wales, FL; his best friends, Bruce and Linda Dunagan of Biloxi, MS; and his beloved German Shepherd, Lady.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
