Sue Drummond

Sarah Sue Drummond, 80, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at her home in Gulfport. Born in Louin, Miss., she had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since the summer of 1969, having lived prior to that in Huntsville, AL, as well as several other towns throughout Mississippi. For most of her years on the Gulf Coast prior to her retirement, Sue Drummond worked as a Cosmetics Consultant, first, at Gayfer’s (now Dillard's); then, at Merle Norman, both at their downtown location and, later, at Edgewater Mall. She was an avid reader throughout her adult life. And she loved cats, especially her devoted Sweetie, a stray that she had adopted in 2009. Sweetie was by her side to the end. She was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. Drummond, to whom she was married for over 50 years; and their oldest son, Michael Drummond. Sue Drummond is survived by her youngest son, Paul Drummond of Austin, TX; her sister, Ruth Dees of Laurel; her brother, Sammy Sims of Hattiesburg, formerly of Biloxi; and her nieces and nephews.
