Teddie Gene Gartman, Sr., age 86, of Gulfport, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Gulfport. He was born in Saucier, MS and was the retired owner of a heavy equipment construction company and always enjoyed the fact that he passed his love of construction on to his children and grandchildren. Mr. Gartman was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era. Mr. Gartman is preceded in death by his parents Tom F. and Mary Etta Gartman; and brothers Willard, Herbert and Donald Gartman. He is survived by his wife Thelma Louise Pritchard Gartman; daughters Deborah “Debbie” Bermond (Rene III) and Jeania Gartman; sons Teddie G. Gartman, Jr., Bradley T.G. Gartman (Mairead) and Justin Gartman; brother Etric Gartman (Becky); sister Shirley Murphy (Kenneth); grandchildren Jason Taylor (Amanda), Kim Rouse (Cory), Ryan Garriga, Teddie Gartman, III (Katie), J.D. Gartman (Angela), Austin Gartman, Cristeun Gartman (Natalie) and Xoannan Parry; 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank and express appreciation to Dr. Douglas Lanier and staff, the 3rd floor nurses at Singing River Gulfport, his hospice nurse Nanda (Deaconess), and Dr. Saja and Dr. Cowan and their VA Medical Center Teams. His children are proud that their father has donated his body for research to the University of South Alabama Anatomical Gifts Program and are honoring his request for no funeral or service. Donations to the National Kidney Foundation at kidneyfund.org are preferred. Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, is honored to serve the Gartman family.
