Therese Geneva Swanson

Therese Geneva “Mama T or TT” Swanson, age 60 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Ocean Springs Hospital surrounded by her children. Therese was born on January 25, 1960 to Kenneth and Catherine Swanson in Milwaukee, WS. Her family moved around due to her father being in the military, and graduated high school in Corpus Christi. She was a self- employed house cleaner for twenty years here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and loved her clients like they were family. She was a member of the Hibernia Marching Society and practiced Catholicism. Many knew her as, “Mama T” for her caring, inviting, and saint-like soul. She never turned away anyone or anything in need. Her favorite past time was fishing, camping, feeding the homeless and her chickens, being on the beach and playing shuffleboard. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Swanson of Ocean Springs; her mother Catherine Swanson and brother Kenny Swanson, plus many more. She is survived through her two daughters, Katherine and Samantha Hardisty of Ocean Springs; two sons, Chancellor and Kenneth Hardisty of Ocean Springs; two brothers James Swanson of Indianapolis, IN, and Roy Swanson of Ocean Springs; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others. Therese did not want a funeral, but more a Celebration of Life. Due to the unexpected pandemic, a fundraiser and her Celebration of Life will be TBA.
