Therese "Teri" Ann Cooper

Therese “Teri” Ann Cooper, was born June 12, 1959, in Burbank, CA. She was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ June 18th, 2021. Teri is survived by the love of her life, best friend and soul mate Michael Cooper of Gulfport, MS, daughter Nicole Bishop and husband Travis of Aurora, MO, son Nathan Ash and wife Erin of Glendale, AZ, son Shane Cooper and wife Bonnie of Gulfport, MS, daughter Angie Simmons and husband Kirk of Gulfport, MS, Beau Cooper and wife Cass of Tustin, CA, brother Charles Peterson and wife Sarah of Santa Maria, CA, brother Joe Peterson and wife Ronnie of Lancaster, CA, brother in law David Cooper and wife Joanna of Wiggins, MS, brother in law Tony Jackson of Saucier, MS, and 12 of “The best looking grandchildren ever.” She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Peterson and Marie Mathis. Teri was an avid gardener, with the greenest thumb around. One of Teri’s favorite things was going with Michael to buy the half dead plants on clearance and give them new life, making their home a paradise. She worked in the dental industry from the age of 20. She had a passion for serving the patients of Gulf Coast Dental Care, working with a fantastic group of people and she loved to see people smile. Teri and Michael were an unbeatable corn hole team, [their children finally accepted that]. They shared a love of finding good deals at flea markets and thrift stores, afternoon lunch dates, many road trips and adventures. She loved to have her family around with everyone cooking, playing cornhole, swimming, sitting in the hot tub, a fire pit in the evening with a good glass of wine. Teri and Michael belonged to the most amazing little family at New Zion Church in Perkinston, MS. She was the most kind, loving and genuine person. Teri touched many lives just being herself. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies and amazing baking skills. Teri leaves a legacy of kindness and love for Michael, their children, and grandchildren. No one could have asked for a better wife, friend, and parent than Teri. “Wear your sunscreen, because cancer sucks” she would say.
