Thomas Arnold Capley was born on July 19, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He left this earth to meet his Maker on April 21, 2018. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois A. Smelley Capley; his father, Norris Arnold Capley; and his younger brother, Dale Edward Capley.
Thom leaves behind his wife, best friend and soul mate of 27 years Kathy Brewer Capley. He also leaves behind his beloved twin daughters, Mary Thomas Capley and Dane Alice Capley and her fiancé Ryan K. Zelenka; goddaughter, Kay Leigh M. Schneider; and in-laws, Garry L. Brewer and Robert and Sharon Nelson. Thom was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and great great nephews.
Thom lost his battle with cancer fighting it the best he could, he continued his great wit and sense of humor with grace. Thom was the best husband, father and friend anyone could ask for.
Thom was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Thom was an engineer by trade. He worked for Northrop Grumman for a number of years. He retired and went to work for Navy SupShips. Working for the Navy required him to travel which he thoroughly enjoyed. He made many friends during his career.
Thom will be dearly and sadly missed by all who knew him. Especially the Loving and Honorary “Armpit Crew” namely William (Butch) Crouse, Larry Jones, Billy Lancaster, Bobby Arnetson, Mark Uithoven, Lee Gallon and Al Puckett.
