Thomas E. Ferrill, Sr.

Thomas E. Ferrill, Sr. passed away on February 7, 2018 at the age of 88 in Biloxi. A lifelong citizen of Biloxi, Thomas, Tom, or simply “Coach,” was a well loved man by many on the Gulf Coast. His impact reached far and wide. Tom graduated from Biloxi High School in 1949 and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Campus, in 1951. He went on to receive a B.S. from Delta State in 1953, and a Masters of Education from William Carey in 1977. He served the Gulf Coast community as a teacher and coach of football, softball, cross country, swimming, and basketball for thirty-nine years. Some of his many notable accolades include being a member of the Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame, the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame, a South All-Star Coach for Girls High School Softball, and served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Association of Coaches. Tom and his late wife Barbara devoted their lives to their family and serving the youth of Biloxi and the Gulf Coast through teaching and coaching. Tom was always a smiling and loving man.
