Titania Pauline "Bootsie" Wheat

Titania Pauline “Bootsie” Wheat, 80 of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Saturday August 21st. Titania was a native and longtime resident of Ocean Springs. She loved the healthcare industry from a very young age. She started as a nurse tech then went back to school in her 40’s to become an LPN and eventually received her RN degree. Working at several hospitals along the Gulf Coast whether it was medsurg, ICU, charge nurse, or house supervisor she just loved helping the sick. Her true calling was when she found hospice. She was the Director of Quality Hospice for many years and finally retired as QI Coordinator with Hospice of Light in 2017. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, and watching Fox News and Hallmark Movies. She was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Lee and Jessie Pauline Culver; brothers, Jesse Lee and James Allen Culver; sister, Teir Juana Cook; and granddaughter, Jennifer Wheat Moore. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ronald Wheat Sr. of Ocean Springs; son, Ronald Wheat Jr. (Annette) of Biloxi; daughter, Rhonda Jones (Tom) of Biloxi; son, Regan Wheat (Gayle) of Columbus MS; daughter, Shekindah Wallace (William) of Ocean Springs; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Teri Burns (Fred) of Ocean Springs; sister, Tynee Merwin (George) of Lake Charles LA; and many extended family and friends. A visitation for extended family and friends will be held from 10 am-12 pm with a service at 12pm on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at Bradford O’ Keefe Funeral Home Ocean Springs 911 Porter Avenue. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery Ocean Springs 4111 Bienville Blvd. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Titania Wheat.
