Valerie Barnes Fayard, 73 of Gulfport died Saturday, May 2, 2020. She was born in Gulfport March 27, 1947 to her parents, James Curtis Barnes, Sr., and Norma Amelia Crossman Barnes. Valerie previously served in the United States Marine Corps. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Curtis Barnes, Sr., and Norma Amelia Crossman Barnes. Valerie is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Elmore; her son, Matthew Elmore; her sister, Vicki Farrell; her brother, Cuet Barnes; and four grandchildren.
