William Maurice Zirkelback, age 74, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020.
William was born on November 13, 1946 in Pascagoula, MS to William Edward Zirkelback and Flora Powell Zirkelback Murphy. He was raised at age 13 by Maxwell Powell. William was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and sharpshooter (rifle). William was an electrician at Ingall’s Shipbuilding. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching, and watching the Saints play football.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William Zirkelback, Flora Murphy, and uncle, Maxwell Powell; siblings, Charles Emmet Zirkelback, Evon Lee “Dago” Zirkelback, and half-brother, James Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Zirkelback; children, Angelia Bone, Bobbie Martinez, Michelle Lorenzo, Steven Zickelback, and Bridget Urquidez; grandchildren Christal Monique Bone, Ricky Joseph Bannister-Bone, Henry Preston Black, Veronica Nefatlee Black, Joshua Gabriel Garcia, William Jordan Bartmess, Alex Carter Lorenzo, Christian James Lorenzo, Alexander Urquidez, Aidan Urquidez, and Isabella Urquidez; great-grandchildren, Ty Xxander Bone-Wade and Zane Avery Bone Wade; and half-sister, Elaine Murphy Thompson.
A service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 with a visitation from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Ocean Springs Hospital and Ocean Springs Cancer Center.
