Adeline Roger Plaisance, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2016 at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia.
Born to Oliver and Therese Roger on August 7, 1933 in Mathews, Louisiana. She married Autrey J. Plaisance on August 29, 1953. She was a retired sheet metal worker from Avondale Shipyards where she was one of the first female sheet metal workers. In her later years she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing BINGO and going to casinos. She always delighted everyone with her spunky attitude and great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Autrey Plaisance Sr., parents Oliver and Therese (Larose) Roger, siblings Aline Naquin, Van Roger, Carroll (CJ) Roger, Irving Roger, Ruby Discon, Marie (Earline) Traina, & Oliver (Junior) Roger Jr, and infant son Paul Andrew Plaisance.
She is survived by her five children Mona Fraase, Mary Parker, Adele Plaisance, Debra Boudreaux and husband Scotty, & Autrey Plaisance Jr. and wife Suzanne. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren Travis Fraase, Jayson Parker, Gregory Fraase and girlfriend Shannon Garner, Melissa Chagoya and husband Jose, Crystal Gillis and husband Josh, Jonathan Parker, Kimberly Boudreaux, Amanda Plaisance, & Samantha Gillett, also by her 15 great grandchildren and sister Sophie Hembree.
Gatherings and services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. A gathering for immediate family will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Public viewing and visitation for family and friends at 10:00 AM followed by a short Mass from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. She will then be laid to rest next to her husband in Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. Pallbearers will include Autrey Plaisance Jr., Scotty Boudreaux, Travis Fraase, Gregory Fraase, Jayson Parker, and Josh Gillis.
