Adron Wiley Campbell, age 92, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2019, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He leaves his cherished wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Barhanovich Campbell; his daughter, Adriann, and her husband, Ken Griffith; his grandson, Adam Griffith; his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Bunch, his beloved great-grandchildren, Breauna, Tyson and Colin Bunch; and many friends.
The son of Herbert W. Campbell and Grace Sanderford, Mr. Campbell lived most of his long happy life in his hometown of Ocean Springs. However, he did leave Ocean Springs to serve his country in the U.S. Army, including service in Korea.
Most local folks will remember a smiling “Mr. Adron” from his years working at Broome’s Grocery. In his later life, he stayed busy working in maintenance at his home at Villa Maria.
The family wishes to thank the kind staff at Ocean Springs Nursing Center, especially Felicia, “Bilbo” and Shiquita; as well as Hospice of Light, particularly his buddy, Donna.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Bellande Cemetery in Ocean Springs on Saturday, March 2, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
