Alonzo "Paw Paw" "L. G." Gabrich, Jr. 92, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, May 30, 2011, in Biloxi.
Mr. Gabrich was born April 17, 1919 in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident. He attended Sacred Heart Academy and was a liflong member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral. He was also a member of the Slavonian Lodge. He retired from civil service at Keesler Air Force Base and enjoyed fishing, baseball and football, especially the New Orleans Saints. He had a great sense of humor and shared it with everyone. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Gabrich was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Esther Noble Gabrich; parents, Alonzo L. (Sr.) and Odile Desporte Gabrich; two grandchildren, Jeremy Magrette and Amanda Felsher; and a half brother, Lonnie Gabrich.
He is survived by his children, James Gabrich of Ocean Springs, Carlotta (Jack) Hughes of Ocean Springs, and Paulette Felsher of Biloxi; a half sister, Linda Bourgeois Gabrich; six grandchildren, Roxanne Fisher, Jimmy Gabrich, Rod Hughes, Carla Recio, Kiley Hughes, and Matthew Felsher; and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations made to the charity of one's choice.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
