Alton J. Bosarge, 83, a lifelong resident of St. Martin, continued on his journey from home, surrounded by his loved ones on July 31, 2014.
He was a lifetime butcher, a man of few words and loved by many. He was known for his love of gardening, knitting cast nets, fishing for mullet, crabbing and doing puzzles.
Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Davenies and Lillian Bosarge; infants, Sandy and Randy; brothers, “Beet” and “Son”; sisters, “DeeDee” and “Cotton”.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Colleen (Groue) Bosarge; sons, Alton “Rock” (Wendy) and Ricky (Linda); daughters, Robin (Mike) Robinson, Tina (James) Woody and Connie (Dino) Lepoma; sisters, “Annie” Letort and Betty (Jimmy) Seymour; brother, Stanley Bosarge, all of St. Martin; 10 grandkids; 17 great-grandkids; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Colleen is grateful for her children, grandkids, and great-grandkids for the care and love they have shown to their daddy and Pawpaw.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Sunday, August 3, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, where friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Bosarge Cemetery.
