Biloxi

Alvin Frances Vogt of Biloxi, Mississippi, died at the age of 90 years old on May 27, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Mae Gollott Vogt; his parents, Albert Vogt and Linas Langlinais Vogt; his brother, Lloyd Vogt; and his cousin, Beverly Kovacevich, who was like a sister to him.

Alvin is survived by his children, Scarlett Zuber, Dana DeMoss (Lonn), and Lance Vogt (Kati); grandchildren, Gabrielle Chambless (Greyson), Cole Vogt, Madison Wall (Brad), Lindsey Bounds (Harrison), and Blain Zuber; and great-grandchildren, Pryce Chambless and Max Chambless.

Alvin was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School. He served for seven years in the U.S. Army Reserves and had a long career with Entex Gas (formerly United Gas), retiring after 43 years of service with them.

Alvin had a passion for collecting and restoring things, always finding value in things others might overlook. He had a special gift for bringing things to life, whether it was an old table he was restoring or flowers he’d planted. He had a true green thumb and could grow just about anything, and he was happiest with his hands busy and being outdoors. He was also a talented artist, and for years, he was the steady hand behind the names on countless boats along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His artwork became a lasting part of the water, the docks, and the stories those boats carried.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. Immediately following interment, a celebration of life will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church Family Life Center in Biloxi.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Charities’ Mercy Cross Center.

Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Alvin Frances Vogt.
