Amelda Aletha Jones Cruthirds

Mrs. Amelda A. Cruthirds, age 83, of the Latimer Community, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011. She now happily resides with her Lord whom she served faithfully while here on earth. Mrs. Cruthirds was a lifelong resident of the Latimer Community and longtime member of Big Ridge Baptist Church in D'Iberville. She and her late husband, Buford (Buck) Cruthirds, were married for forty years before his death in 1990. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Wess R. Jones, Sr. and Veanie Jones and brother, Wess Jones, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Linda D. Cruthirds (David) Stires of Latimer and Kathy L. Cruthirds (Butch) Wilkerson of Dahlonega, GA., four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Oma Cruthirds of Ridgeland, MS. and Helen Sharp of Grand Chain, IL. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 9 am - 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Latimer Assembly of God Church Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given on her behalf to Big Ridge Baptist Church, 3230 Big Ridge Rd., D'Iberville, MS. 39540 or Alzheimer's Association, MS.
