Amelia Howard Broome

Amelia Howard Broome, age 89, of Gulfport, died Monday, May 5, 2008 in Gulfport. Mrs. Broome was born in Jackson, TN and had been a resident of the Coast for over 80 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport and was also a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Buren Broome, Jr.; a daughter, Carol Broome Milner; a sister, Dorothy Trosper; and a brother, Joseph Howard. Mrs. Broome is survived by a daughter, Gail Rodgers of Gulfport; a sister, Virginia Payne of Gulfport; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
