It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Amy Elizabeth Hilton, 53, of Gulfport, MS. Amy was born in Columbia, South Carolina, grew up in Gulfport, MS and resided in New Orleans, LA for the past 25 years. She was a proud graduate of LSU, where she was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority.

Amy had a deep passion for rescuing dogs and dedicated her time and love to those who needed a home. She had a meticulous approach to gardening and yard work, creating beautiful outdoor spaces that reflected her care and attention to detail. She also had an impeccable eye for decorating and design, transforming and building her surroundings into beautiful and inviting environments. Amy had a successful career in the mortgage banking industry, most recently serving as a Loan Officer with Regions Bank for 20 years.

Amy is survived by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Frank B. Hilton, Jr.; her best friend and sister, Stacey Hilton Penny (Michael); and brothers, Frank and Dr. Clay R. Hilton (Jennie Keller). Amy had an immense love for her nieces, Lauren Penny Spears (Nathan) and Julia Penny Galyen (Trey); and her nephews, Jake Penny (Anna Broadus), Chad Hilton, Clay N. Hilton and Cole Hilton. Her bond with each of them was a source of happiness and inspiration, and she always made sure to celebrate their achievements, big or small. She valued her friendships with her wonderful friends, colleagues and neighbors. Amy’s spirit and dedication to her family and friends will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

There will be a private memorial service held in Gulfport, MS. We thank everyone for understanding and reaching out to the family during this difficult time. The family would like to especially thank Paw Dat Daycare and Boarding (205 Sierra Court, Metairie, LA 70005) and the Jefferson Parish Animal Services (2701 Lapalco Blvd, Harvey, LA 70058) where donations may be made in Amy Hilton’s honor.
