Andrew Albert Lechner, Jr., 84, of Vancleave, MS passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born August 27, 1941 in Biloxi, MS to Andrew and Sarah Lechner.
Andrew was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He retired from Ingalls as a welder and was a long-time volunteer and former chief of the West Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department. Andrew was a proud member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Lechner Sr. and Sarah Beaugez Lechner; son, Andrew “Albie” Lechner III; and 2 sisters, Barbara Jean Williams and June Skinner.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Bunny Bolton Lechner; daughter, Katherine Rushing; grandchildren, Sherman (Robin) Rushing, Jessica (Ethan) Hicks, and Andrew (Emilee) Lechner IV; great grandchildren, Stella, Slade, and Bennett Rushing; sister, Linda (C.B) Saucier; and brother, Danny (Roberta) Lechner.
A visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11 am, A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Following Mass, interment will be at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
