Angelina Gialone Ward, 94, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 4, 1931, in Naples, Italy, she spent her early years there before immigrating to the United States in 1957, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and tradition.
Angelina was the heart of her family—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She created a home filled with warmth, strength, and unconditional love. Deeply proud of her Italian heritage, she shared her traditions through her cooking, her language, and her belief that family is life’s greatest blessing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Giovanni Gialone and Concetta Troise; her siblings, Emma, Antonietta, Benito, Vincenzo, Giovanni, and Roberto; her beloved husband, Kenneth Ward; her son, John Ward; her granddaughter, Tara Ward Burleson; and Collins Meaut.
She is survived by her brother, Pepino and Roberto; and her children: Maria Ward Palmer, Kenny Ward, Linda Ward Satterwhite, Annette Ward Newcomb, and Andrea Ward Farrell. She leaves behind a treasured legacy in her grandchildren: Jonathan Palmer (Vannah), Brittany Palmer (Michael), Sommer Ward, Brooke Martin (Paul), Erin Lewis (Michael), Joseph Meaut, Laura Meaut, Garrett Meaut (Morgan), Austin Meaut (Victoria), Seth Newcomb, Gabriel Newcomb (Gracie), Peyton Newcomb, Alexis Newcomb, Cody Newcomb, Tristan Newcomb, Josh Rachel (Mikka), Benjamin Rachel, Andrew Hart (Brittany), Samuel Satterwhite, Noah Satterwhite, Shelby Elizabeth (Preston) Farrell and Chandler Gerard (Madi) Farrell.
Her love lives on through her great-grandchildren: Caden McGrath, Palmer Meaut, Ethan Meaut, Bentley Newcomb, Isaac Michael Farrell, Elliot James Farrell, Emily Palmer, Gabby Palmer, Jamie Palmer, Lily Palmer, Camden Palmer, Skyler Palmer, Hadley McLallen, Laney Rachel, Britton Orrick, Cullen Orrick, Dylan Orrick, Casen Hart, Walker Hart, Dominic Burleson, Emma Burleson, Addison Martin, Justin Martin, Owen Lewis, Noah Lewis, Avery Lewis, and many more whose lives were touched by her kindness and care.
She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Michael Farrell, Scott Newcomb, and Jeffrey Satterwhite, along with extended family and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.
Known lovingly as “Nonna,” Angelina was more than a grandmother—she was a symbol of comfort, resilience, and home. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she preserved, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the strong family bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
