Anna Belle Borries Cox, age 90, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away on April 25, 2026 surrounded by her family. Known and loved by all as Anna Belle, she was born on July 4, 1935, and carried a spirited and joyful nature throughout her life. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Anna Belle attended D’Iberville High School and dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She met the love of her life, Ernest “Moochie” Cox, at a basketball game, and she cherished watching him play baseball for Gulf Hills. She was known for her love of simple pleasures—playing bingo, visiting the casinos, enjoying games of Pokeno and cards, working word searches, and picking crabs. She could always be found talking and telling stories, with her unforgettable and infectious giggle. She found joy in family gatherings and time spent with those she loved most.

She is survived by her four children: Mark (Sharon), Randall (Shelly), Nedia (Greg), and Byron. She also leaves behind a large and loving legacy of grandchildren: Megan Calton (Charlie), Jamie Strayham (Ivan), Aaron Cox (Kelsey), Amanda Hayball (Justin), Gregory Wise (Lauren), Jessica Cox, Ryan Cox (Courtney), and Harrison Wise (Whitney); and great-grandchildren: Maci, Casten, Suzanna and Charla, Annaston and Greyson; Cody, Easton and Rhett; Shepherd, Forrest, and Seoul; Jade and Josie; Ryker, Cohen, and Linley. She is also survived by her brothers, Ray Borries (Elaine), Jimmy Borries (Rhonda), and Ralph Borries (Sheila); sisters-in-law Peggy Cox and Rose Cox, as well as a host of special nieces and nephews, and many longtime friends and neighbors.

Anna Belle was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Borries; the love of her life, her husband Ernest “Moochie” Cox; her sister, Janet Borries (Augie) Derouen; her Goddaughter, Yvonne Derouen Mosley; and her brother-in-law, Robert Cox.

Anna Belle will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her family, and the joy she brought to everyday moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
