Annie Pearl Moore, 89, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at her home in Gulfport.
She was born on November 18, 1936, in Eclectic, Alabama in Elmore County to Pattie B. Abney and Marvin Smith. She attended and graduated from Tallassee High School in Tallassee, AL. She received a scholarship to attend nursing school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She continued her nursing studies at Charity Hospital in New Orleans to earn her BS in Nursing. Her true calling was a devoted childcare provider. Generations of parents trusted her with their most precious gifts. She also cherished spending time with her own family.
Annie was a #1 Saints fan. She always enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints games with family and friends. The guiding light of Annie Pearl’s life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a woman of God. Annie anchored her life in prayer, scripture and an unfailing dedication to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Martin T. Smith.
Survivors include her husband, John Moore, to whom she was married for 66 years; sons Robert Moore and John Moore; a daughter, Robin Moore; a granddaughter, Deanna Moore; and siblings, Larkus Smith and Daryl Smith. Annie enjoyed being a fur baby grandma to dogs Honey, Samantha, Bailey, Tucker and Bella, who have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
There will be a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
