Annita Taylor Ladner

Annita Taylor Ladner of Gulfport, MS went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 90.

Annita, a foundling, was born July 20, 1932 in Tampa, FL. She was adopted as an infant by William and Julia Taylor. Her father’s career as a Methodist minister instilled a deep devotion to God, and Annita faithfully served at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church for many years. She will be remembered as a selfless woman who devoted her life to God. Baking cakes and candies for various occasions was her specialty. She also enjoyed her work at the Orthopedic Clinic in Gulfport, as the office manager for 40 years.

Annita was preceded in death by her husband, Welton Ladner, Jr.; parents, William and Julia Taylor; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Joyce Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Dale Arthur; grandson, Bobby (Megan) Cobb; granddaughter, Courtney Cobb; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ted Cobb, Sharmaine Jones, Debbie Torjusen, Dorothy Ladner, Mitch Mitchell, and SAAD Healthcare for their exceptional care and support.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church in Gulfport. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Flower and Music Fund at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church, 2419 22nd Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
