Arie Christina (Fletcher) Swift, 83, of Vancleave, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 28, 1943, in Pascagoula, MS, to the late Andrew Roscoe and Elsie (Havens) Fletcher.
She was a lifelong member of Vancleave United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 55 years. After working at Brumfield’s Department Store and selling Stanley Home Products for many years, she was a homemaker – cooking, sewing, and making floral arrangements. She shared many of her skills with members of the community. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; sister, Jeanne (Fletcher) Blount; sister-in-law, Ginger (O’Neal) Fletcher; infant son, Baby Boy Swift; and many other family members.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her husband, William (Bill) Swift; two sons, James (Julie) Swift and Christopher Andrew Swift; a daughter, Deborah Swift; six grandchildren – Jacqualine (Matthew) Davidson, Jenna Swift, Kaitlin and Tristan Swift, Robert and Matthew Burchett; two great-grandchildren, Temperance and Pharan Davidson; and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
She will be honored by pallbearers including Mark Fletcher, Ross Fletcher, Josh Tootle, Lance Tootle, Cliff Davis, and Trenton Jones.
Friends and family are invited to honor Christina’s memory at Vancleave United Methodist Church on August 8, 2026, at 10:00am. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00am. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Allen with interment at Red Hill Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
Special thanks to Hospice of Light – especially Katie, Johnese, and Ashley – for providing her comfort and services during her final weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Prospect Methodist Campground in Vancleave, MS.
