Ashley Leighann Unger Zapata, age 28, left this world on November 11, 2016 to be with our Lord and Savior.
Ashley was born on December 5, 1987 in Newport, Rhode Island. She was diagnosed with Scleroderma, a connective tissue disease in 2006. She met it head on and fought hard to live her life to the fullest. She is a 2006 graduate of D’Iberville High School and attended both Perk and J.D. to study Art. She belonged to the Ocean Springs Art Association and the ACCE (Art Can Change Everything) group.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Carl “Joey” Unger; grandfather, Skipper Palmer; uncle, Mike Unger; step grandparents, Mack and Martha Husley; and father-in-law, Joe Zapata.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jason Zapata; father, Richard P. Unger; mother, Dana Husley; step-father, Kendall Husley; mother-in-law, Penny Zapata; sister, Kayla (Dalton) Mitchell; step-brothers, Jeremy (Amanda) Husley; Cameron Husley; brothers-in-law, Joe (Shanna) Zapata, Richard (Melissa) Zapata; nephews, Richie Zapata, Ian, Auron and Eli Husley; nieces, Kayla and Miley Zapata; grandmother, Ivy Palmer; grandparents, Richard F. and Jeanette Unger; many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends; and her fur babies, Bowser, Lily, Sammy and Max, that she loved dearly.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a service on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at White Plains Cemetery.
