Bertie "Birdie" Marie Evans

Bertie "Birdie" Marie Evans, 94, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Singing River Hospital, Ocean Springs, MS.

She was born on August 26, 1931 in Piggot, Arkansas to James Andrew Jackson and Sarah Ann Forest. She graduated High school. She enjoyed gardening.

Birdie was preceded in death by her parents, James Andrew Jackson and Sarah Ann Forest; Spouse, James Clarence Evans; Son, James Michael Evans; Siblings, Benjamin Lee Jackson, Betty Lousie Jackson, and James Clinton Michael Jackson.

She is survived by her children: Dennis Ray Evans, Wayne Glen Evans (Ani), Sarah Marie Brumbaugh, Pamela Sue Avera (Alan) and Earl Lester Evans (Vicky); Grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Evans (Henrique Hauptmann), Timothy Glen Evans (Desiree), Jennifer Brumbaugh, Jessica York, Ricky Parker (Stephanie), Christopher Avera (Amber), Todd Avera, Sharon Rome (Robbie), Lauren Jones (Adriana), Carol Miller and Shante Wilson; Great Grandchildren, Colt Shelton, Skylar Mcentee (Nautica), Trenton Shelton, Lexi Shelton, Ethan Ates, Rylie Rome, Jaiden James, Hunter Parker, Chase Parker, Bowen Parker, Brooklyn Moore (Shyann), Madison Briscoe, and Blaine Parker; and Great Great-Grandchildren, Poseidon and Sebastain Mcentee.

A sincere "thank you" to the nurses and personal care assistants at the Singing River Hospital, 2 West, Ocean Springs, MS for the exceptional care they provided to Mrs. Evans.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Blvd., Biloxi, MS.
