Beth Koehler Witt

Beth Koehler Witt, 60, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Beth was born on May 28, 1966, in Adams, Wisconsin, to Cathy Cullison. She was lovingly raised by her parents, Gary and Cathy Cullison, whose love and guidance shaped the woman she became. She shared a beautiful marriage of 36 years with her devoted husband, David, building a life rooted in faith, love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to one another. Together they created a family that was the greatest joy of her life. Beth's greatest pride was being a mother. She loved her boys fiercely, celebrated every milestone, and was their constant source of encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her family always knew they could count on her, and the love she poured into them will continue to shape their lives for years to come.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Converse College before receiving her master's degree in Education from William Carey University, pursuing a calling that would become her life's passion.

A devoted educator, Beth dedicated her career to shaping young lives through her work at multiple schools including Saucier Elementary School and Harper McCaughan Elementary School where she believed every child deserved to feel seen, encouraged, and believe in themselves. Her classroom was more than a place of learning. It was a place of kindness, patience, and unwavering support. The countless children whose lives she touched, along with the colleagues who had the privilege of working beside her, will forever remember the compassion and joy she brought to education.

Beth's faith was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served for many years as a youth leader at Nugent United Methodist Church, where she invested in the lives of countless young people with love, wisdom, and encouragement. She was also an active member of The Church on the Coast, where she found great joy in worship and fellowship alongside her church family.

Outside of her career, Beth found happiness in life's simple blessings. She loved cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers, camping, spending time with family and friends, and making memories with those she loved most. She adored her wiener dogs, Oscar and Louie, as well as her granddog, Ship. Her warm smile, generous heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for others made everyone around her feel like family.

Beth was preceded in death by her father, Gary Cullison.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Witt; her mother, Cathy Cullison; her sons, Dustin (Hilary) Witt and Michael (Avery) Witt; her sister, Marcia (Jason) McAdams; her beloved dogs, Oscar and Louie, and granddog, Ship; her lifelong friends who became family, Alan and Tracy Corrick; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues who will miss her deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Church on the Coast, 12161 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, Mississippi 39503.

Beth's life was a beautiful example of faith, compassion, and selfless love. Whether in her classroom, at church, or among family and friends, she made people feel valued, encouraged, and deeply loved. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
