Biloxi, Mississippi-Betty S. Dearolf, age 83, peacefully became an angel on Sunday, November 14, 2021, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. Betty is reunited with her husband, of 62 years, Laurence B.Dearolf, her daughter, Cynthia Sue Sherman and her parents, Harry and Faye Robertson. Betty was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 6, 1938. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1956 then married, the love of her life, Larry on July 26, 1959. The early years of her life was dedicated to supporting her husband’s military career and raising their three daughters. Later in life, her love and dedication extended to her grand children and great-grandchildren. Betty is survived by her daughters, Donna George and Tyla Simmons. Her brother-Charles Robertson, niece-Angela Robertson, nephews-Chase Robertson and JD Robertson. Her grandchildren-Melanie Bennett, Gabriel George, Stephanie DeMarco, Jackie Sherman, Michael Sherman, Samantha Simmons, Sabrina Simmons, Christina Simmons, Colby Simmons and 23 great-grandchildren. Staying true to her Cajun roots, Betty cheered for the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. She will always be remembered for her love of raw oysters, Milky-Ways, 7-Up plus the TV shows-The Price is Right, NCIS and CSI. She was proud to call herself a “Guthrie Girl” though her family and friends are forever honored to have called her “MeMaw.” A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, November 21, 2021, 6 PM- 7PM at the Howard Avenue chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10 AM at the Howard Avenue chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
