Betty Carolyn Godso, 70 yrs old, born October 14th, 1945 in Moss Point, MS to Winston & Vivian Vaughan passed away Sunday, November 29th, 2015 in Gulfport, MS after a year long courageous battle against cancer. She moved to the Gulf Coast after living in the Baton Rouge area for almost 25 years. There she was a very active board member of The Baton Rouge Women’s Political Caucus and started her own court reporting firm. Since moving to the coast, she has been very active in the community and with her church family at Unity Christian Church. Betty was always kind, vibrant, full of life and a great friend. She is preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Crane Vaughan and brother-in-law, Karl Wiegleb. She is survived by her father, Winston Vaughan, her sister, Annette Wiegleb, her brothers Dwight (Gay) Vaughan, Philip (Rita) Vaughan, Ronald (Linda) Vaughan. Her four children; Glendon Oswalt Jr., Rhonda (Mickey) Head, Randall Godso, Brandi (Michael) Rowan and her adored grandchildren; Rachel, Claire, Michael and Sam Head and Ava and Jackson Rowan. Visitation will held at Bradford O’Keefe on 15th Street in Gulfport, MS on Saturday, December 5th at 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at Unity Christian Church on Railroad St.
