Mrs. Betty Mae Mason, age 93, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Pascagoula.
Betty was a native of Biloxi and a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. She retired from Hancock Bank and was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, where she served as Secretary. She was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Altar Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Betty was also a former volunteer at Ocean Springs Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 41 years, Willie M. Mason, son, Larry Mason, parents, Bertha and Robert Hutchinson and two sisters, Geraldine Stanley and Barbara Shaffer.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Troy) Bass, Donna (Don) Dunbar and Kathy (Mitchell) Richardson, daughter-in-law, Tommye Lynn Mason, eight grandchildren, Linda (Richard) Ryan, David Rice, Beth (Scott) Mordecki, Christopher Richardson, Brittany Richardson, Brady (Lindsay) Dunbar, Melanie Engel and Daniel (Danielle) Mason, eleven great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Rachel, Elise, Andrew, Clayton, Justin, Madeline, Jack, Jordan, Adelaide and Ritchie and two great-great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ava.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 2, from 9am to 11am, with an 11am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket.
The family would like to thank Jane Hickson and staff of the Sanctuary House in Moss Point for the loving care of their mother.
Betty loved God, her church and her family. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Her beautiful smile and loving personality will be sadly missed by all.
