Betty Rose Wilson

Betty Rose Herron Wilson, age 83, passed away in her home on Sunday, November 26, 2023.


Betty has lived in Saucier, MS for the past twenty years, but spent most of her adult life in St. Martin. She was born in Panola County, MS and graduated from Sardis High School.


Betty was a long-time employee of Keesler Federal Credit Union, where she retired from the accounting department, then returned to work there again for several more years. She loved gardening flowers and vegetables alike, and thoroughly enjoyed her last twenty years living out in the country. She was known for her seafood gumbo and the handmade Christmas candies that had become her family’s treasured tradition.


Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Octa Herron and her siblings, Louis Edward Herron, John Lee Herron, Ola Mae Wooten, and Thomas Herron. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Charles Wilson; her daughter, Terrie Wilson Simmons; and her granddaughter, Robyn Ashley Simmons.


Betty is survived by her brother, Bobby Joe Herron; and her sister by marriage, Jewel Stewart. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Michael Wilson, and Kenneth (Patti) Wilson, as well as by her grandchildren, Kayla Wilson Boyd, Jordan Wilson, Jake Wilson, Jenna (Kyle) Peterman, and Katie Wilson.


Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 am all at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. A Graveside service will be held at 10am at d’Iberville Memorial Park, 11041 Gorenflo Road, d’Iberville, MS 39540 on Monday, December 4, 2023.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Woolmarket Baptist Church as the host church for the annual Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night To Shine Special Needs Prom. Woolmarket Baptist Church 12816 Lorraine Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
