Billy Murry “Butch” Kuhn passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the age of 65. Known for his big heart, quick wit, and deep love for music, Butch lived life with warmth, generosity, and a spirit that drew people to him wherever he went.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Jan Roderick and William M. Kuhn (Bill) and his nephew, Justin Hugh Rogers.
He is survived by his devoted wife and #1 fan, Patti Rogers Kuhn, as well as their beloved pets, Stevie, Dixie Ree, and Pawlee, who brought him constant joy and companionship. He also leaves behind his brother, Mike Kuhn (Jennifer); sister, Kelli Baxter (Jason); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A proud graduate of Bay High School, Butch went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force. He later pursued a career as an electrician, where his dedication and work ethic earned the respect of all who worked with him. Butch was also a gifted guitar player whose music touched many and brought life to every gathering. He loved nature and found peace and joy in the quiet moments on the water fishing or in a deer stand.
Butch never met a stranger. His easy smile, open heart, and love for storytelling made everyone feel like a friend. He will be deeply missed and remembered always for the love he shared, the music he played, and the countless lives he touched.
Butch will remain forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Long Beach VFW, 213 Klondyke Road, Long Beach, MS 39560. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Kuhn family.
