Billy M. Moak, age 78, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born on August 25, 1937 in Bogue Chitto, MS.
In 1959, Billy married his beloved wife Sue M. Moak. They enjoyed living in many places in their early years of marriage and decided to call Ocean Springs home for their family.
After graduating high school, Billy served four years in the United States Air Force as an Electronic Engineer. He continued his engineering career working for the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Defense for the US Air Force, and the US Navy.
Billy was a loving husband and father of three daughters and placed family first. He was a solid, good man who cherished each day. He was quick to notice and share even the smallest things in nature. Billy was passionate about cars whether he was rebuilding, collecting, or racing them. He also was an avid marksman and a superior chess player.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Sue M. Moak; his parents, Annie Mae and Gordon Moak; his sister, Jacqueline McKee; his sister-in-law, Nan Schwabe; his brothers-in-law, Herb Schwabe and Herb Haymans; and his niece, Traci Haymans.
Survivors include his daughters, Kelly (Hugh) Hutto, Karla Vasquez and Krista (Josh) Gallaspy; three grandchildren, Jarred (Alyssa) Hutto, Ryan Hutto, and Joe Gallaspy; two great-grandchildren, Brockson and Sutter Hutto; his brother, Keith Moak (Ethel); his sister-in-law, Sandra Haymans; and seven nieces and nephews.
On Saturday, June 25, 2016 there will be a 10:00 a.m. graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
