Blanche Elizabeth McLain Wallette, "Liz". 84 years old, from Abilene, Texas. Passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Jackson, Mississippi

She was born on August 29, 1941, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Campti High School, Campti Louisiana and attended Northwestern State College in Natchitoches where she studied business office administration. She was a homemaker and worked as an executive assistant in the Ocean Springs School District for many years before retiring. She is the surviving widow of a Vietnam War Veteran, Robert P. Wallette. She loved gardening, reading, word puzzles, watching football, spending time with her family, watching old westerns, collecting antiques, and had a profound love of animals and nature.

She was an exceptional baker; known for the wonderful meat pies she crafted from treasured recipes passed lovingly through generations. Her family will forever remember her soft and beautiful voice singing Ave Maria, a sound filled with grace and tenderness.

She carried a lifelong love for animals, found deep joy in gardening, and was happiest when outdoors, surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature. With her hands, she created cherished afghans for her family—each stitch a reminder of her warmth, her care, and her enduring love. Her home was a place of comfort and laughter, where love was always present and freely given.

She welcomed her daughter-in-law and son-in-law as her own, loving them deeply and sharing with them a bond of true friendship. Her love for her children was fierce and protective, and her pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds.

Treasured beyond measure, she will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erna Blanche O'Quinn and William Robert McLain; her sisters Mary Alice Barnwell Price and Helen Anne McLain Rivet; and her brothers Charles Webb McLain, and Robert Newton McLain

Survived by her children Jacqueline Cecilia Sullins (Jim) of Brandon, Mississippi, Davis McLain Wallette (Darlene) of Abilene Texas; grandchildren James Sullins (Amie), Annabelle Jordan (Brandon), William Sullins (Hailey), Robert Wallette (Abbie), and Julia Wallette; great grandchildren, Everly Jordan, Lottie Jordan, Scout Sullins, Shelby Hood, Charlotte Hess, Della Hess and William Hess; siblings Frances Emeline Stovall of Houston, Texas and Judith Lynell Vercher of Birmingham, Alabama; and her dog Prissy
