Bobbie Maurice Breland Brumfield, 88, loving mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2016 in Ocean Springs, MS after a fifteen year battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia, a rare and debilitating disease.
Bobbie was born in Merril, MS on April 5, 1928, the daughter of Robert and Ethel Gibson Breland Kittrell. She graduated from Moss Point High School. Bobbie and George were married on June 21, 1952 in Jackson County, MS. They started out their married life in Moss Point, MS and moved to Ocean Springs, MS later in life.
With a smile that lit up a room, Bobbie especially enjoyed fellowshipping with other Christians. She was an active member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, enjoying Sunday School and worship services.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Brumfield, Sr.; her parents; and her brothers, Fritz Breland and Charles “Buddy” Breland.
Bobbie’s survivors include her sons, George Albert (Sandra) Brumfield, Jr. and William Lee Brumfield; her grandson, George Albert Brumfield, III; her granddaughter, Laura Lynn Brumfield; and her sisters-in-law, Cynthia Breland and Ruth Breland.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Linda Palode, Sarah Patridge, Jackie Keith and Lillian Bodich from Comfort Keepers and all of the others that stayed with her throughout the years.
On Monday, July 25, 2016 there will be a 12:00 pm service at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 6150 Firestone Street, Ocean Springs, MS, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 am until service time. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
