Bobby Gene Penton, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Bobby was a longtime resident of Pascagoula, MS where he was a business owner of Tri-City Sales and Service and Radio Communications Service of Pascagoula and Gulfport; Chief Engineer at WPMP radio station, an electrician for Wesmar Marine and other companies on the East Coast and a night school teacher of electronics at Pascagoula High School.
Bobby attended Eastlawn United Methodist Church, where he taught Men’s Bible Study for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his 7 boys, running the Pascagoula Beach, reading his bible and driving his wife, Cherri and their Cocker Spaniels down the beach. Bobby always had a pot of coffee ready.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arzo and Eva Penton; his wife, Cherrlyn D. Penton; his sister, Brenda Penton; and his sons, Bobby Hayes Penton, Larry Penton and Ronnie Penton.
Bobby’s survivors include his sons, David (Sherry) Penton, Earl (Kathy) Billingsley, James (Terry) Billingsley and William (Renee) Billingsley; his daughters, Sherri (Will) Brancamp and Paige (Stace) Triebwasser; his daughters-in-law, Myra Penton and Tricia Penton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Truewood Assisted Living Facility, Deaconess Home Health and Vital Caring Hospice for their excellent care and support of Bobby and his family.
A graveside service will be held at McLain Cemetery in McLain, MS on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 10:00 am.
