Bonnie Jean Cotman

Bonnie Jean Cotman, age 81, of Gulfport, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Bonnie Jean was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, and met her husband Theodore Scott “Scott” Cotman there when he was stationed at Hunter Air Force Base. Bonnie Jean and Scott were married on August 6, 1960 and celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. Bonnie Jean and Scott moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast upon his assignment to Keesler Air Force Base and soon made this their forever home where they raised three children, Ted, Tod and Trish. Bonnie Jean was the oldest of 6 children and adored each and every one of her 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Bonnie Jean’s family will forever remember her love of cooking, which she passed onto her children. She loved gardening and truly had a “green thumb”. She would spend many evenings sitting at the “shed” with her husband and family listening to music, watching the birds eat at their many birdfeeders, and play in the birdbath. Bonnie Jean was a well-loved member of her small community and will always be remembered for hosting the neighborhood cookouts and annual fish fry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney Louis Moye and Esther Jean Neilinger Moye. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Theodore Scott Cotman; children, Theodore Scott Cotman (Teresa), Tod Hunter Cotman (Nancy), Trish Ann Misko; grandchildren, Jennifer Cotman Walker, Lindsey Cotman, Madeline Cotman Joachim, Truitt Cotman-Peterman, Jack Henry Cotman, Sawyer Cotman, Colin Anthony Misko, Austin Scott Misko; great-grandchildren, Reese Walker, Lilly Walker, Maverick Joachim, Maddox Joachim; and siblings, Brenda Moye Hodges (Tommy), JoAnn Moye Long (Larry), Mitchell Moye (Rikki), Michael Moye (Helga), Eddie Moye (Lynn).
