Carey B. Cox, Sr.

Carey B. Cox, Sr., age 65, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 in Ocean Springs. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He also was a U.S. Navy Veteran and commercial fisherman. He enjoyed hunting. Carey is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Elwood Cox and Lois Extine; grandson, Aaron Cox; and sister, Kimberly Mapp. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Lydia "Libby" Cox; daughters, Crystal (Daniel) Serrano and Caitlin (Chad Steele) Cox; son, Carey "C.J." Cox; sister, Cyndi Stubbs; brothers, Charles "Sonnie" (Dianna) Kuns, Ronnie (Carolynn) Cox, Tyron (Cheryl) Cox, and Tim (Bridgett) Cox; grandchildren, Finn, Skylar, Delaney, Addilynn, Paisley, and Cruz. Services will be held at his parents' homestead on Seaman Road Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe is in charge of arrangements.
