Carmen Ferrer Ruiz

August 26, 1933 — December 19, 2022

Biloxi

Carmen Ferrer Ruiz, age 89, of Biloxi, Mississippi passed away on December 19, 2022.

Carmen was born on August 26, 1933 in Logroño, Spain and raised in Madrid. She married Raul Ruiz, a USAF serviceman. Carmen and her husband later moved to Biloxi, Mississippi in 1959 where they had three children. Although she went back to visit Spain often, Biloxi was the place she called home. Carmen was an excellent cook, a great Bingo player, and an expert at the slot machines. She was a warm, welcoming lady who always had a positive, happy attitude and a smile on her face. Carmen adapted to American culture fairly well, but insisted the Spanish food and language was far superior. A loving and totally devoted mother, she is survived by her three children, Carmen R. Watkins, Elena R. Wills, Ramon Ruiz and their families.

Funeral services in her honor will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Friends may visit thirty minutes prior. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.

Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Carmen Ferrer Ruiz.
