Carol Jean Davis

Carol Jean Davis, age 81, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. She had been a resident of Biloxi since 1959. Carol was born in Goodman, Missouri on November 26, 1934. As a young girl, she lived with her mother and father in Grove, Oklahoma where she graduated as valedictorian of Grove High School in 1952. After high school, Carol joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Communication Technician at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. This is where she met and married her husband Donald Davis, Sr. in 1954. They were married until his passing in 2011. Carol loved to bake, sew, cross-stitch, garden, and she was an active member of Leggett Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the Board of Trustees. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Davis, Sr.; and her parents, Howard and Helen Hickman. She is survived by her son, Donald Davis, Jr. of Biloxi; her daughter, Deanne “Dee Dee” Davis Bruno (Jeff) of Ocean Springs; one granddaughter, Lyndsey Bruno Brunt (Hartman) of New Orleans, LA; and sister-in-law, Sally Berkel of Belleville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Leggett United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to visit from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Biloxi National Cemetery.
